Pleasant surrounds….

“I moved to Northbourne in 2019 and have been very happy I made the decision to do so. There is easy access to the shops and my villa is very comfortable with pleasant surroundings.”

Thankful…..

“My husband and I moved from Western Australia in 2019 and have been so pleased we decided to move before it was too late. I now live by myself in my beautiful villa and am thankful it is close to my husband, who is now in the May Shaw care facility (walking distance), who I can visit regularly. I have family close and love the gardens and the safe environment and activities that Northbourne offers.”

Smell the roses….

I moved to Scottsdale due to a marriage breakup and lived with my son for 2 years until I sorted out some medical issues, my son drove me through Northbourne on several occasions and thought it would be great place for me to move to as he lives so close, I get up in the morning and literally smell the roses every day, there are roses all through the gardens and a range of wonderful colours and perfumes, Daffodils, Lillies, Tulips, Daphne, and Lily of the Valley and many other plants make a walk through the gardens a great pleasure and a great subject to photograph.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Debra Burch

Best life decision made…..

In early 2010 we registered our interest to purchase a home at Northbourne Retirement Village.  At the time we had no need, or desire, to move into Northbourne, but we realized there was an extensive waiting list and it may be considerable time before a villa became available.

We then forgot all about living at Northbourne.

Then in late 2014, out of the blue, we were contacted by the Executive Officer to advise a villa was available, if we were interested.  We were living quite comfortably in our own home in Scottsdale and had no difficulty managing the property.  However, we realized age would soon become a factor in our capacity to maintain a larger home and keep the garden to the standard we desired.

We decided to accept the offer to purchase a long-term lease for the villa at Northbourne.

It proved to be one of the best life decisions we have made.

The staff have been very helpful and friendly and we have formed friendly relations with many other village residents. As our physical capacity declined due to age and associated medical problems, we have the mental comfort of knowing we are not alone as we age, but are surrounded by a network of caring and friendly people who keep a friendly eye on our health and welfare.  Northbourne also provides a wide range of activities that are enjoyable and help maintain a wide social circle.

Northbourne Retirement Village is more than a roof over our heads, it is comfort and security as we reach the more advanced stage of life.
